URSI XXV Convention on Radio Science - last call for papers

The Finnish National Committee of URSI will have the XXV Convention on Radio Science at SŠŠtytalo and Tieteiden Talo, Helsinki, Finland, on 21-22 September 2000. The Geophysical Research Division of the Finnish Meteorological Institute is the local organizer.

HIGHLIGHTED TOPICS:

* Mobile radio networks
* Radars
* Theory of electromagnetic fields and waves
* Natural electromagnetic fields
* Space weather with a special emphasis on ionospheric effects

Contributions in other areas of URSI are also welcome.

ABSTRACTS: See technical instructions on the meeting WWW site. Send abstracts no later than August 15 to Ari Viljanen (ari.viljanen@fmi.fi). Abstracts received later will only be considered if space permits. Late contributions should be sent to Risto Pirjola (risto.pirjola@fmi.fi).

PRESENTATIONS: Oral presentations can be given in Finnish or English; however, all viewgraphs are recommended to be in English. Poster presentations should be in English. The Program Committee will make the final decision on oral vs. poster presentation.

YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD including a scholarship will be given for the best presentation by a scientist of at most 35 years old.

REGISTRATION: The registration fee is recommended to be paid until September 8. Later registration (also on-site) is possible with a higher charge.

Registration fees:

21Ð22 September: 150 FIM (after September 8: 200 FIM)
21 September: 100 FIM (after September 8: 150 FIM)
22 September: 100 FIM (after September 8: 150 FIM)

Undergraduate students: free of charge. An advance registration is required until September 8.

The registration fee includes the abstract book, coffee and evening reception at the Finnish Meteorological Institute on 21 September.
