Statistics of the coronal mass ejections (CMEs)

Objective

To understand the empirical characteristics of coronal mass ejections, and their evolution during the 11-year sunspot cycle.

Exercise outline

Given two time periods, one from the solar maximum and one from the solar minimum, analyze statistically the CME characteristics (occurance rate, velocity, acceleration, position angle, width). Compare the statistics from solar maximum to solar minimum.
