Additional Information

TomoScand is an advanced tomography code, which uses Bayesian statistical approach in the inversion. The challenge of ill-posed problem due to sparse observations is tackled in the Bayesian framework by introducing additional information for the reconstruction with prior probability distributions. Gaussian Markov random fields are used when constructing the prior electron density profiles, which makes the problem computationally feasible also for large numbers (>300000) of unknowns. In the Near-Real-Time version of TomoScand the biases of GNSS receivers are estimated by introducing them as additional unknows for the inversion problem. The satellite biases are estimated with the methodologies developed for the Multi-GNSS Experiment (MGEX) of the International GNSS Service (IGS).
