The TomoScand3D and TomoScand2D products present an approach to use Near-Real-Time data from GNSS in regional volumetric reconstructions of ionospheric electron density. The analysis area covers Northern Europe, Fennoscandia and Svalbard. The reconstructions are based on Bayesian statistical inversion which uses a priori -information from one to two ionosondes.
The inversion methodology for the reconstructions have been developed in the Finnish Meteorological
Institute with the support of University of Oulu and the Academy of Finland.
