The European Space Agency highlights the importance of Earth Observation for the Arctic in a newly released video, SEE HERE: “The Arctic: a delicate icy ecosystem”.
The video features the CIMREx Airborne campaign (https://space.fmi.fi/2019/03/06/follow-esa-cimr-airborne-arctic-campaign/) as an example of Earth Observation science conducted in the Arctic.
FMI-SPACE participated to the CIMREx airborne campaign measuring properties of Arctic sea ice, conducted in February-March 2019 in support of the future CIMR (Copernicus Imaging Microwave Radiometer) satellite mission (https://cimr.eu/). The aim is to develop data interpretation algorithms for CIMR.
